Privacy Policy
What we collect
Like almost every website, we collect basic server logs: the IP address making the request, the page being requested, the time of the request, the user-agent string your browser sends, and the referring URL if any. These logs are used to detect abuse, monitor site performance, and protect content from automated scraping.
We do not require you to create an account, enter your email address, or submit personal information to read any article on this site. The risk-assessment quiz computes its result from your answers in the current request and discards those answers when the request ends — we do not store quiz responses linked to your identity.
Cookies
We set one short-lived cookie for visitor verification. It contains a cryptographically signed token, expires after one hour, and is used only to distinguish real visitors from automated traffic at a couple of specific URLs. It is not a tracking cookie. It is not shared with third parties. It is not used to build an advertising profile.
Your browser may also store cookies from third parties we've embedded — at present, our Google Fonts integration (which doesn't set cookies in modern browsers but historically did). We do not run any third-party analytics or advertising tracking at the time of this policy's publication.
Analytics
If we enable a visitor analytics provider at any point, we will update this section to name it and describe what it collects. As of the date above, no third-party analytics provider is running on this site.
Advertising
We run paid traffic campaigns to specific landing pages on this site through Google Ads. If you arrived via a Google ad, Google may append click-tracking parameters (such as gclid) to the URL you landed on. We use those parameters only to verify the visit came from a real ad click and do not tie them to personally identifying information.
We are not an advertising network ourselves. We do not sell ad space on our pages. We do not share visitor data with advertisers.
Data retention
Server logs are retained for 30 days for security and operational purposes and then purged automatically. There is nothing in them that identifies individual visitors beyond IP address.
Third-party services
The site currently uses the following third-party services whose privacy policies also apply to any data they process on our behalf:
- Google Fonts. Used to serve web fonts. Google's privacy policy applies.
- Cloudflare (if enabled). Used for basic DDoS protection and content delivery. Cloudflare's privacy policy applies to data processed at their edge.
Your rights
If you live in a jurisdiction with data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, UK GDPR, LGPD, and similar), you have the right to request access to any data we hold about you, the right to request correction of inaccurate data, and the right to request deletion. Because we don't collect personally identifying information from most visitors, these requests are usually resolved by confirming we have nothing on file.

Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the site after the updated date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
